Small historic towns, sunny alpine pastures

The Valle Isarco stretches from Brennero to Bolzano and presents itself with a colourful mix of culture and nature. Three of the eight South Tyrolean towns are located here: Vipiteno in the north, followed by Bressanone and Chiusa. Winding alleys, museums and boutiques invite you to take a stroll and to explore.

The past is omnipresent even far from the settlements. In Fortezza, for example, you will find the largest historical complex in South Tyrol, a masterpiece of Austrian wartime architecture. In the Trostburg above Ponte Gardena, however, you will not only find magnificent halls, but also the South Tyrolean Castle Museum.

Ultimately, South Tyrol would not be South Tyrol without the fantastic natural landscape: Vineyards, chestnut groves, waterfalls, gorges, high alpine pastures and the magnificent view of the Dolomites promise plenty of variety.
