Winter holiday in the Val Isarco

Hiking, culture and cuisine in perfect harmony

The best thing about a winter holiday in the Valle Isarco is not only the various skiing areas in the area, but also the charming towns and villages, which with their cosy pubs and Christmas markets invite you to take a breather after a day on the toboggan or the skis - a winter holiday with city flair.

Pure adrenaline!

Several ski areas are waiting for you during your winter holiday in the Valle Isarco. On the Plose, the home mountain of Bressanone, for example, you can whiz down the longest valley run in South Tyrol, the Trametsch, for more than 9 km. The skiing area Ladurns near Colle Isarco is particularly family-friendly. The Monte Cavallo, on the other hand, can be reached in just a few minutes directly from Vipiteno. Tobogganing enthusiasts should set their sights on this one in particular, as it features the longest toboggan run in Italy. Skiers and snowboarders will also find everything their hearts desire in the Racines-Giovo and Malghe Rio Pusteria.

Cross-country skiing

When you don't want to go so fast

Cross-country skiing When you don't want to go so fast

Between Colle Isarco and Laion there are around 20 cross-country ski trails on which you can glide along under the blue sky. The highest one is on the peak of the Würzjoch at 2000 m. The 50 kilometres of cross-country ski trails in Racines and Ridanna, where there is also a biathlon centre, are also particularly recommendable.

Those who prefer to be off the slopes should not miss out on Funes and the "Villanderer Alm". The valley at the foot of the Gruppo delle Odle and the Hochalm are perfect for challenging ski tours or leisurely winter hikes through the landscape of the Dolomites.

Snowshoe hike to the "Gampen Alm": This hike in Funes leads from the village of Zans across the "Gampenwiesen" to the "Gampen Alm" hut. It is possible to sledge back to Zans or St. Maddalena/Ranui for the way back.

Villanderer Alm: The Villanderer Alm is also a popular hiking destination in winter. The routes lead through snow-covered forests and past idyllic alpine huts. The Villanderer Alm also offers a variety of winter sports such as cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
