The nearest airport to Bolzano is Bolzano Airport itself, which offers direct connections to the city and the surrounding regions. By Car

  • From the North:
    Take the A22 to the Bolzano Nord exit, from there you can directly reach the center of Bolzano and the surrounding areas.

  • From the South:
    Exit the A22 at Bolzano Sud and head towards the center or continue to popular destinations along the South Tyrolean Wine Road.

Winter Recommendation:
From November to April, it is advisable to use a vehicle equipped with all-wheel or front-wheel drive, winter tires, and snow chains. Avoid rear-wheel drive to be prepared for winter road conditions.

By Train and Bus

Travel comfortably and environmentally friendly by rail to South Tyrol's south

  • From GERMANY:
    Multiple daily direct connections take you from Munich to Bolzano in less than four hours without the need to change trains. Information on train connections can be found at Deutsche Bahn DB.

  • From AUSTRIA:
    Regular connections from Kufstein via Innsbruck and the Brenner Pass bring you from all parts of Austria to Bolzano. You can find the train connections at the Austrian Federal Railways ÖBB.

  • From SWITZERLAND:
    The Railjet Express & Eurocity comfortably takes you from Switzerland via Innsbruck and the Brenner Pass to South Tyrol. Trains from the Swiss Federal Railways SBB run several times a day from Zurich, Basel, or Geneva.

Direct bus connections are available from Bolzano to the wine regions along the South Tyrolean Wine Road. Depending on the destination, travel time is about 20 to 40 minutes.
Alternatively, you can use the "Südtirol Transfer" shared or individual transfer service, which takes you directly from your stop to your holiday accommodation.
